North Umpua Unified Club

North Umpqua Unified Club is an inclusive club that promotes social inclusive opportunities for students with and without intellectual disabilities.  Members are from North Douglas, Elkton and Yoncalla school districts.  North Umpqua Unified Club is part of Project Unify Oregon.

Our Goal:  Schools that Welcome All People

Unified Champion Schools is a collaboration with school communities for engaging young people with and without intellectual disabilities as leaders promoting acceptance inclusion and respect in their schools utilizing the sports and education initiatives of Special Olympics of Oregon.

North Umpqua Club Goals

  • Participate in the Unified Youth Summit at Oregon State University

  • Unified Club monthly recreation activity (bowling, hiking, movie, etc.)

  • Unified Basketball - North Umpqua will have two Unified basketball teams that compete at the Regional Tournament at Oregon State University (February)

  • Participate in the Polar Plunge fundraiser (February)

  • Respect Week Campaign - Club Activities around promoting social and academic inclusion in our schools.
